Prior to the Raksha Bandhan, Finance Minister Piyush Goyal has given a big gift and said that he is currently pulling Rakhi out of the purview of GST. According to the news agency ANI, the Finance Minister said that "Rakshabandhan is coming, we have thrown out Rakhi from GST and have been exempted from all kinds of statues, handicrafts and handlooms ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi". He said that all these things are our heritage and we should show respect to it. Earlier, many important changes were made in the 28th meeting of the GST, which means the goods and services tax council. Under these changes, sanitary napkins were tax-free. Plus tax on 88 items, including TV, freeze, washing machine, has been reduced.
